How to add Range slider filter control in Quicksight?

Range slider in Quicksight is an advanced feature that allows the user to select a range using the slides from left and right. This feature can be added to the filter control with a few configurations on the filter pane. Normally, slider control is added through parameters, however, for the range slider adding parameters is redundant because this option is not available in the parameter section.

The data type of the column should be an integer to utilize this feature, others are not supported. In the example below

Steps to create Range Slider

Step 1: We will select Tenure here in this dataset as it is an integer and can well be used as a range slider.

Step 2: Here, we will add the same field to the filter pane with the selections of Aggregation as No aggregation, Filter condition as Between, and with minimum and maximum values for the slider set.

Step 3: Once everything is set and applied, select the three vertical dots and proceed with the selection of  Add-to-sheet in the options. The purpose here is to add the control in the sheet just so it can be moved to control selection.

Step 4: After the add-to-sheet selection, we will see the actual pop-up for the slider range where the minimum value, maximum value, and step size are set.

Step 5: After selecting the add button in the pop-up, a range slider can be seen in the sheet with the given max and min values.

Step 6: In this step, the range slider added to the sheet is moved to the controls section after selecting the pin to top button from the vertical dots selection. Now the selections on the filters work ideally and produce the appropriate results based on the selection made on the controls.

However, the ranges set in the sliders are manual for now because most of the time we expect the minimum and maximum ranges automatically be taken from the respective field values. Hope this explanation helps you better implement the range slide in Quicksight.
